1983 | BOMA-Atlanta / BOMA Georgia Presidents

Robert M. Thomas joined Carter & Associates in 1973, and served as its vice president of office property management. In addition to the Real Property Administrator designation, Thomas obtained a chief engineer license and a real estate license. He was also a certified appraiser, certified electrician and a registered property manager. Thomas served as a member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors, on the Governor’s Energy Commission and the Georgia Asbestos Licensing Board. He perhaps made his most noteworthy contribution to commercial real estate in the field of education and training through his service to the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI). He served as a member of the board of directors; he compiled an outstanding record as chairman of the fundraising committee; and he served two two-year terms as the Institute’s chairman of the board. During his period of leadership, BOMI had an outstanding record of growth and evolved as a major force in the field of professional continuing education in the real estate industry.
