George R. Pendley

George R. Pendley served as Executive Secretary of BOMA Atlanta from 1954 to 1957.

According to an article in the October 17, 1954, issue of The Atlanta Journal, George served in the Tourist Department of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce before being named BOMA Atlanta Executive Secretary. The article further states, “While with the C. of C., Mr. Pendley also served as secretary of its fire prevention committee, and as secretary-treasurer of the United Committee for a Cleaner, Safer, More Beautiful Atlanta. The newly elected BOMA executive secretary is a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was graduated from the University of Georgia with an A.B. in journalism in 1948. He is a native Atlantian, and attended Boys High School.”

Speaking of Atlanta’s significant growth in the mid 1950s, he was quoted in the May 20, 1956, issue of the Atlanta Journal and The Atlanta Constitution as saying, “Atlanta’s skyline growth is the most fantastic in the entire United States.”
