Joseph Murphy

Joseph Murphy, Chief Operating Officer of St. Moritz Security Services, received the 2023 Thought Leadership Award from CRE Insight Journal. 

At the time he received the award, Joe had 40 years of management experience in the physical security industry, and his client portfolio included thousands of properties in every vertical market. Throughout his career, Joe built extensive knowledge and experience in commercial real estate safety and security, including physical security services; technology integration to achieve stronger, more cost-effective security programs; high rise and Class A security services; workplace violence prevention training; active shooter training and awareness; and more. 

Joe collaborated with CRE Insight Journal extensively, providing thought leadership for resources on topics such as Tenant Safety and SecurityReturning to Work: A Post-Pandemic Perspective on Workplace Violence ConcernsCreating and Maintaining an Effective Tenant Fire Warden Training ProgramThe Human Factor and Disaster; and Property Hardening. Additionally, Joe contributed to the 2022 Proptech and Cybersecurity Guidewhich equipped real estate industry professionals with resources needed to effectively lead their organizations and properties into the future.

Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Farleigh Dickinson University and began his career at Wells Fargo Guard Services in 1984. Throughout his career, he served in numerous leadership positions. From 2003 to 2016, Joe served on boards of directors for multiple security organizations. In January 2024, he was named Chief Operating Officer of St. Moritz Security Services, which at that time was one of the largest security providers and one of the top 10 security services companies in the United States.
