Roderick Murphy

Roderick Murphy, with Cousins Properties, was named BOMA Georgia’s Engineer of the Year. O=An individual who nominated Roderick for the award said, “He has a unique role within Cousins, and his professional skill set, quiet and unassuming demeanor, and positive, can-do attitude make him successful at whatever job he takes on. While he sometimes shies away from the limelight, he has been described as our company’s very own ‘Superman.’”

As his supervisor said, “he is dedicated to educating the next generation of building engineers. He has the knowledge, desire, and ability to teach, mentor and lead junior and less experienced engineers. His patient and unassuming way opens doors and minds to allow open communication and interest in whatever he may be working on.”

Furthermore, in a nomination letter submitted by his supervisor, it was said, “who among us can claim selflessness more than a veteran of our armed forces having put everything before himself to serve our country and provide and protect our freedom and liberties? He maintains this value in civilian life, always putting the property and the team before himself. Without exception, he will divert credit and accolades from himself to the team and those he works with, taking pleasure in their successes.”
