The Young Professional of the Year Award recognizes a BOMA Georgia member who has been active in the association for four years or less and has demonstrated excellence in serving the commercial real estate industry in their area of expertise. This year, BOMA Georgia is delighted to honor Mychael LaBrecque for her enthusiastic engagement, servant-leadership mindset, and genuine investment in the people around her.
Since joining BOMA Georgia, Mychael has quickly distinguished herself as someone who doesn’t just attend events, she shows up ready to contribute. She serves on the Emerging Professionals and Community Service committees, has participated in educational offerings including Property Management 101 (PM 101), and is active in the Allied Member Resource Group. She attends BOMA luncheons, and events throughout the year, consistently bringing energy and enthusiasm to every gathering.
What sets Mychael apart is her commitment to building and maintaining connections. After completing PM 101, she took the initiative to keep her cohort connected, fostering ongoing relationships that extend well beyond the classroom. She actively seeks out mentors at all levels, shares ideas, and creates opportunities for others to engage with the BOMA community.
“Mychael is a connector of people and services,” a colleague said.
“This young go-getter attends every BOMA luncheon and event she can get to. She seeks out mentors of all levels to advise her and share her ideas with throughout the year. I’m honored to be a part of the community she’s been building.”
Her colleagues describe her as someone who approaches her work with maturity and professionalism well beyond her years. She is known for her reliability, solutions-oriented mindset, and ability to anticipate needs before they arise. Whether assisting colleagues, partnering with new industry professionals, or volunteering for BOMA initiatives, Mychael brings a servant-leadership approach that inspires those around her.
“From the moment I met Mychael, it was clear she was someone special—not only highly capable in her role, but also deeply invested in the people she works with,” an individual who nominated her for the award said.
Her positive attitude has become one of her defining characteristics. Nominators consistently highlighted her ability to uplift teams, bring fresh energy to projects, and make even the most complicated tasks feel manageable.
