2020 | President's AwardCompany: Piedmont Office Realty Trust

Miller Getz, RPA, CCIM, General Manager at Piedmont Office Realty Trust, was recognized with the 2020 BOMA Georgia President’s Award. Miller has been one of the association’s most active members for several years. During his volunteer service to BOMA Georgia over the years, he has served as chair of the Awards, Membership, and Nominations committees. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors, including a term as president.

Most recently, in 2020, he served as vice chair of the association’s Government Affairs Committee. The leadership he provided in BOMA Georgia’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic was instrumental in ensuring real estate professionals and companies had the resources necessary to successfully and safely navigate through the pandemic. And his service as a leader within the Government Affairs Committee resulted in several major victories in 2020, including COVID-19 liability protection for real estate companies; essential worker status for building managers and operators; and expedited building plan inspection and reviews.

Russell Copeland, 2020 BOMA Georgia President, said, “Miller is one of the most thoughtful, reflective, and inclusive leaders within BOMA. His inquisitive nature helps the association consider multiple perspectives before making decisions; his sincere desire to listen to and understand the perspectives of others builds a culture of inclusion; and his ability to effectively delegate to and empower others helps build leadership skills in other BOMA members.”

Miller earned the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from the Building Owners and Managers Institute and the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the CCIM Institute.
