2025 | Safety and Security Professional of the YearCompany: Piedmont Realty Trust

Lindsay Binicewicz, Director of Security with Piedmont Realty Trust, has received the 2025 BOMA Georgia Safety and Security Professional of the Year Award.

The Safety and Security Professional of the Year Award recognizes an individual who serves at a property or portfolio level to strengthen the safety and security of real estate assets, tenants, and visitors. The award honors exceptional customer service, communication skills, and dedication to serving others. This year, BOMA Georgia is proud to present the award to Lindsay Binicewicz for her outstanding leadership and genuine passion for the security profession.

Lindsay serves as Director of Security at Piedmont Realty Trust where she has quickly established the standard for excellence in security management. In this role, she oversees security managers for all of Piedmont’s Atlanta properties, collaborates with multiple security vendor partners, and provides valuable support to Piedmont Realty Trust buildings in other cities. Her strategic insights and hands-on approach have elevated the company’s security presence and created a model for others to follow.

Before joining Piedmont Realty Trust, Lindsay served as Director of Security at Galleria on the Park with Chesley Brown, where she excelled for many years before Piedmont recognized the value of bringing her expertise in-house. Prior to her career in private security, Lindsay worked with the Cobb County Police Department in a variety of roles, giving her a strong foundation in public safety and law enforcement. She continues to leverage those connections by actively building relationships with local fire departments, police departments, and specialized security vendors.

“I can honestly say that I’ve never seen someone with such a genuine passion for security—it’s unmatched,” said an individual who nominated her for the award.
“Whether she is conducting security assessments at 6am, educating teams, or collaborating with our vendor partners, Lindsay demonstrates a tireless commitment to ensuring that safety is more than just policies and procedures. She has ingrained it into our culture.”

Lindsay’s impact extends beyond traditional security responsibilities. She is among a select group of individuals at Piedmont chosen to lead PLACEmaking training, a hospitality-focused initiative that instills a five-star mentality and ensures tenants receive a first-class experience every time they enter the building. This blend of security expertise and service excellence reflects her understanding that safety and hospitality go hand in hand.

“Lindsay has redefined what it means to be proactive in the field of security management,” a colleague said.

“Through her strategic insights, hands-on training, and continued dedication, she has elevated our market’s security presence and created a model that others can follow. Lindsay leads with vision and energy, and she inspires confidence and trust at every level of the organization.”

Lindsay is an active member of BOMA Georgia, and is serving as the 2025-2026 BOMA Safety and Security Organization chair. Her willingness to give back to the commercial real estate community, combined with her extensive experience and unwavering commitment to keeping people safe, makes her a deserving recipient of the 2025 Safety and Security Professional of the Year Award.
