2023 | Committee Chair of the YearCompany: SJC Ventures

Jess Moore, RPA, Vice President of Asset Management with SJC Ventures, received the 2023 BOMA Georgia Committee Chair of the Year Award. The award was created to recognize job performance as a committee or task force chair, ethics, credibility, professionalism, team building, ability to lead, and support of BOMA, with award recipients selected by the BOMA Georgia President in consultation with the BOMA Georgia Chief Executive Officer. Jess received the award in recognition of serving as 2023 chair of the Trade Show Committee.

“BOMA Georgia’s trade show is our flagship event, and by far the largest annual event we produce. Jess’ leadership of the Trade Show committee was phenomenal,” said 2023-2024 BOMA Georgia President Laurie Harper. “She facilitated committee meetings that were engaging, action-oriented, and fun. And through her leadership, and the service of all of our Trade Show Committee members, our 2023 BOMA Show was one of the most dynamic in recent memory.”

“As the staff liaison to BOMA Georgia’s Trade Show Committee, I was so impressed with her leadership,” BOMA Georgia Senior Director of Operations and Communications Jacob Wilder said. “Jess embraced the committee leadership role and stepped in as chair to lead the committee with little notice after another member changed their career. She excelled in her work with the trade show committee to fill volunteer positions, secure donations for a record-breaking Silent Auction, and develop a BOMA Show theme that was widely embraced by exhibitors and attendees alike.”

In addition to the Trade Show Committee, Jess also served as an active member of the Editorial Board, Industry Insight Committee, Sports Outing Committee, and was appointed to serve as a member of the 2024 BOMA Southern Region Conference Sponsorships Task Force. Jess also served as a member of the BOMA Georgia Board of Directors from 2020 to 2021 and as a member of the BOMA Southern Region Board of Directors.

“Jess is dedicated to advancing the commercial real estate industry through her professional role and volunteer service,” said BOMA Georgia Chief Executive Officer Gabriel Eckert. “Both locally and regionally, Jess has provided strong leadership within BOMA.”

At SJC Ventures, at the time of receiving the award, Jess was responsible for managing a portfolio of more than 12 assets totaling more than 1.2 million square feet throughout seven states. She worked directly with internal and external teams to achieve revenue and net operating income growth, meet the objectives of each asset, maximize property performance, and generate favorable returns for investors.

Prior to joining SJC Ventures in October 2023, Jess joined Stream Realty Partners as Assistant Property Manager in November 2015. There, she was promoted to Property Manager in March 2017 and to Senior Property Manager in January 2019. Jess also served in a human resources and marketing role at J.J. Morely Enterprises from February 2012 to November 2015 and as Office Manager for Coleman Legal Group from 2010 to 2012.

Jess earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009 and also earned the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from Building Owners and Managers Institute in 2020.
