Jasper Dorsey received the 1978 Civic Leadership Award from BOMA Atlanta.

According to the April 19, 1978, issue of The Atlanta Journal, the same year he received this award, “Jasper Dorsey, state director of the Friendship Force of Georgia, has been selected to receive the Governors’ Award of the 1978 Atlanta Community Service Awards program.”

The article further says, “Dorsey, who retired as vice president and chief executive officer of Southern Bell in Georgia, has been engaged in developing Georgia’s participation in Friendship Force, an international visitor exchange program initiated by President Carter.”

Additionally, the article says, “Dorsey’s volunteer service includes two terms as Sight-Saving chairman for the state, honorary general chairman of the 1977 Atlanta Jaycees Empty Stocking Fund, honorary chairman of the fund drive for the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and 1977 chairman of Atlanta Community Service Awards.”
