2024 | Huey AwardCompany: U.S. General Services AdministrationDave Hofstetter, Program Manager, Office of Portfolio Management and Customer Engagement with U.S. General Services Administration, was selected to receive the 2024 BOMA Georgia Huey Award, the association’s highest honor. The award was created to honor years of dedicated service to BOMA and is presented to an individual who has tirelessly given their time in service to BOMA Georgia.
Prior to joining the U.S. General Services Administration, Dave worked at Highwoods Properties for nine years and served in the U.S. Army for 21 years, ultimately serving the country as a lieutenant colonel.
An individual who nominated him for the award said, “Dave has been a dedicated BOMA Georgia member for many years and is a West Point graduate and is a retired lieutenant colonel of the U.S. Army. He has previously been a member of BOMA Atlanta’s Board of Directors and served on the Executive Committee.”
This individual added, “Dave’s qualifications in the real estate industry are impressive and he has been employed with the U.S. General Services Administration in several capacities over the past 12 years. His most recent role has been as their Program Manager, Office of Portfolio Management & Customer Engagement; with a preceding position as Director of Client Development & Solutions and before that, Director of Real Estate Acquisition. All these positions within the organization have been very impactful for the U.S. General Services Administration’s success. Also, back in his earlier career in real estate, Dave served as Director of Government Affairs for the Highwoods Properties organization which proved to be very helpful in BOMA Georgia’s advocacy efforts.”
Another individual said, “I had the pleasure and honor of serving with Dave on the BOMA Atlanta Board and Executive Committee. Dave’s wise perspectives on industry challenges were invaluable and certainly contributed to the progress and success of the association. Dave’s incredible storytelling of his military and professional experiences as well as his life adventures were always thought provoking and intriguing. He provided much needed humor during tough discussions and decision-making. Dave has had a valuable impact on our association and deserves the Huey Award.”
Another individual who nominated him said, “Dave has been a long-time and dedicated member of BOMA Georgia. He served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. As a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Army, his military experience and leadership skills were beneficial in our strategic governance during his years of service. When Dave was President-Elect, he was the Director of Government Programs for Highwoods Properties and made a career change to join the U.S. General Services Administration as Director of Real Estate Acquisition. It was unfortunate that the U.S. General Services Administration had a strict policy on serving on association boards and did not allow Dave to continue to serve on the Executive Committee. Despite not being able to serve as our president, he continued through the years to serve in a non-official leadership role and to be a valuable resource.”
Dave earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at Westpoint and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Georgia State University.
