Bart Parker, with ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance, received the 2007 BOMA Atlanta Pen & Quill Award. The award was created to recognize significant contributions made by an individual to BOMA Atlanta’s print magazine.

Bart was an active member of BOMA Atlanta’s Editorial Board and also served as Co-Chair of the association’s 2005 Sports Outing Committee.

Bart graduated from the University of Georgia (UGA) in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism, where he was a columnist for Red & Black. He began his career as Operations Manager with New Life Landscapes, where he managed maintenance accounts and maintenance personnel and worked to develop new customer relationships. He served New Life Landscapes from 1988 to 1991.

In 1991, Bart joined The Morrell Group/Omni Landscape Group as Director of Business Development, a role he held until March 2004. There, he made significant contributions to organization that resulted in increasing annual sales from $5 million to $24 million. He also led the opening of the company’s northwest Florida and Birmingham markets, and he developed a new marketing program. In this role, Bart also became an active member of BOMA Atlanta and served as a speaker for UGA classes, as well as for state and national horticultural associations.

Bart joined ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance in March 2004 in the role of Senior Business Developer.

Before presenting him with the award during BOMA Atlanta’s 2008 TOBY & Association Awards Banquet, 2008 BOMA Atlanta President-Elect Grace Bickham said, “Since its introduction into the Atlanta market in 1999, Atlanta Office and Commercial Real Estate magazine has been BOMA-Atlanta’s voice to the entire commercial real estate industry. The magazine is guided by BOMA’s Editorial Board. The Pen and Quill award is presented annually to an individual for superior contributions to BOMA-Atlanta’s magazine.”
