Teddy Tesfamariam, Assistant Chief Engineer with Lincoln Property Company, has received the 2025 BOMA Georgia Engineer of the Year Award

The Engineer of the Year Award goes to a building engineer who brings new ideas that save energy, time, and money. Nominees are judged on their job performance, ethics, professionalism, community service, teamwork, industry training, and support of BOMA Georgia. This year, BOMA Georgia is proud to present the award to Teddy Tesfamariam for his technical skill, leadership, and dedication to excellence.

Teddy has over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. He leads a team of six engineers who manage 1.5 million square feet of Class A office space in Lincoln Property Company’s Duluth portfolio. He is responsible for preventative maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety, and energy efficiency programs. Teddy is dedicated to quality and efficiency in all these areas.

Last year, Teddy’s biggest achievement was starting a full safety and preventive maintenance training program for his team, which saved money and improved system reliability and tenant comfort. Teddy’s focus on finding ways to work more efficiently, while increasing quality, shows the kind of innovation this award celebrates.

His supervisor wrote in support of the nomination, “Teddy continually excels in both preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring that building systems operate at peak performance while minimizing downtime. His commitment to safety, professionalism, and operational excellence makes him an invaluable asset to our organization.”

Teddy is not just skilled technically, he is also a leader who works with his team every day. He leads by example, whether he is helping tenants, managing big projects, or overseeing construction. His teamwork has helped create a culture where his fellow engineers keep learning, take responsibility, and share knowledge.

Teddy has been an active BOMA member since joining Lincoln Property Company, remaining consistently engaged in industry education and networking. Additionally, Teddy is a dedicated member of the BTO, contributing time and expertise to advance the program.

Teddy pays close attention to detail, builds strong relationships with tenants, vendors, and owners, and truly cares about his team’s growth. These qualities make him a worthy recipient of the 2025 Engineer of the Year Award.
