The Committee Chair of the Year Award honors strong job performance as a committee or task force chair, as well as ethics, credibility, professionalism, team building, leadership, and support of BOMA Georgia. The BOMA Georgia President, together with the Chief Executive Officer, selects the recipient. This year, Justin Neville is recognized for his outstanding service as chair of the Building Technical Organization (BTO) Council.
Justin’s journey to becoming chair shows his ongoing commitment to the BTO. After serving as vice chair last year, he took on the leadership role with a clear goal to expand professional development for building engineers. With his guidance, the BTO Council offered quarterly educational programs, seminars, and networking events that benefit the building engineering community.
In addition to his leadership role, Justin has supported BOMA Georgia’s educational mission in hands-on ways. He has spoken at many BTO events, sharing his technical knowledge with engineers who want to grow in their careers. His readiness to teach and mentor shows the spirit of the BTO.
A major highlight of Justin’s time as chair was celebrating the BTO 25-Year Anniversary. The event took place on October 21, 2025, at Northyards Office Park in Atlanta. The Low-Country Boil brought together past and current BTO leaders, including the founders, to look back on the BTO’s history and its impact on the building engineering field. Guests enjoyed classic low-country boil food, drinks, desserts, and lawn games while catching up with each other. Special presentations showed how the BTO has grown and stayed committed to technical education, mentorship, and professional development.
The anniversary celebration was more than just an event. It showed the strong community that Justin and earlier leaders have built. By honoring the BTO’s past and looking ahead, Justin showed the thoughtful leadership that helps organizations grow for years to come.
Justin’s active role in the BTO Council, along with his focus on meaningful education, has helped keep the BTO strong and relevant. His leadership, based on service, technical skill, and real care for other engineers, has left a lasting mark on the BTO community.
