About BOMA

The Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia) is a trade association representing one of the largest and most revenue-generating industries in the state: commercial real estate. In Georgia, commercial real estate contributes approximately $5.5 billion to the state’s economy; generates nearly $1.7 billion in new taxable personal earnings and supports nearly 46,000 jobs.

BOMA Georgia members are responsible for the ownership/management and administration of more than 150 million square feet of office space and additional millions of square feet of facilities throughout Georgia. These individuals represent building ownership, professional property management firms, professional service providers and contract services, including construction, cleaning services, security services, elevator maintenance and more than 40 other categories of specialty services. Our members have 24-hour-a-day responsibility for the safety, physical well-being and security of hundreds of thousands of employees housed in the office buildings, office parks and other facilities managed by this industry.

Backed by a strong commitment to government advocacy, BOMA Georgia members have participated in the successful implementation of sprinkler laws, smoking restrictions in public buildings, and ADA compliance for barrier-free access.

BOMA Georgia also conducts a spirited competition annually to select The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) in various categories, while BOMA Georgia’s Association Awards honor outstanding leaders from the industry and from the community.

BOMA Georgia is affiliated with Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA International). BOMA International is a federation of BOMA local associations in cities across the United States and a network of international affiliates around the world. Founded in 1907, BOMA represents owners and managers of all commercial property types, including nearly 10.5 billion square feet of U.S. office space that supports 1.7 million jobs and contributes $234.5 billion to the U.S. GDP. BOMA represents and protects the commercial real estate industry through a robust building codes and federal advocacy program and provides critical tools and information to industry practitioners through education, publications, floor measurement standards, research and benchmarking reports, building recognition opportunities, sharing best practices and trends, and more.

With more than 1,200 members, BOMA Georgia is one of the largest associations in the BOMA International federation, which includes nearly 90 local associations in the United States, nine in Canadian cities and 11 affiliated international associations in Europe, South America and Southeast Asia.
