Communitas Award

2023 | Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals

BOMA Georgia received a 2023 Communitas Award in the “Excellence In Corporate Social Responsibility: Ethical And Environmental Responsibility, Green Initiatives” category. The award was earned in recognition of BOMA Georgia’s ENERGY STAR Month Campaign.

BOMA Georgia created and launched its first annual ENERGY STAR Month campaign in October 2021, which included releasing videos and articles related to the ENERGY STAR Program, ENERGY STAR Benchmarking testimonials, sustainable solutions, and highlighting several ways buildings can save energy through ENERGY STAR.

BOMA Georgia’s ENERGY STAR Month campaign was deployed to inform the real estate community with insight, wisdom, and success stories related to the ENERGY STAR Program and to explore a few of the ways it can help save time, resources, and capital. Efforts focused on building owners, property managers, asset managers, operations and maintenance professionals, and real estate industry stakeholders interested in learning more about energy conservation and sustainable solutions. This campaign leveraged BOMA Georgia’s award-winning magazine, Commercial Real Estate Insight Journal, and website, www.CREInsightJournal.com, to educate and inform the real estate community.

CRE Insight Journal is a collection of industry insight and wisdom recorded in articles, webinars, publications, and short, information-packed videos for on-the-go real estate professionals. Throughout ENERGY STAR Month, BOMA Georgia published articles and videos on numerous energy efficiency topics, such as how an ENERGY STAR Score is calculated, sustainable management, transparency in implementing new technologies, and more.

Communitas is a Latin word that means people coming together for the good of a community. The Communitas Awards program is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (ACP). ACP was founded in 1995 to honor outstanding achievement and service within the communications profession. Since then, according to ACP, the Communitas Awards has evolved into “an international effort to recognize exceptional businesses, organizations, and individuals who are unselfishly giving of themselves and their resources, and those who are changing how they do business to benefit their communities.”
