RMP at Northside Tower, known to most Atlantans as The Tower at Northside, serves as a landmark in one of Georgia’s premier healthcare centers. At 160,000 square feet and rising nearly 200 feet above Peachtree Dunwoody Road, it is comprised of a 5-story medical office building set atop a pre-existing seven-story parking deck. While complex, this setting encourages air rights or “Tower” arrangements, creating a vertically oriented campus with better circulation for vehicles and pedestrians. A grand lobby was created on the first floor to provide access to the medical office building. There is a climate-controlled path to accommodate pedestrians and medical professionals who utilize public transportation. The eighth floor represents the first level of medical offices. The Class A sky lobby stretches 28 feet and is a vehicle for natural light, which floods in on the beautiful Jerusalem sandstone, French plaster and light wood panels with stainless steel surrounds. A security and concierge desk is centrally located in order to assist and protect occupants as they travel through the facility. On the exterior of the building, architectural pre-cast resembling limestone is matched with a structural glass system to blend traditional design with modern design for cutting-edge appeal. The rooftop cooling towers and parking deck continue this look. Ample patient drop-off areas have been provided on each floor of the parking deck, with 2 dedicated zones on the first level, and 1 zone on the new motor court serving the building, connectors and hospital. Two conditioned “connectors” increase physicians’ access to their hospitalized patients, as well as their travel throughout the campus. Located across from the Medical Center MARTA station, patients and employees can easily utilize public transportation.
