2024 | American Society of Association Executives

BOMA Georgia was recognized by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) with a 2024 Silver Power of Associations Award in the Industry/Professional Advancement category. A Silver Power of Associations Award is the third highest honor an association can earn from ASAE.

In 2024, the Industry/Professional Advancement award category recognized associations that addressed industry/professional advancement in any of the following four areas: advancing industry standards or professional codes of ethics; developing innovative educational/professional development opportunities; and conducting research to enhance the collective body of knowledge for an industry or profession.

BOMA Georgia received the award for creating the BOMA Georgia Foundation and a decade of advancing real estate education and research through the foundation.

“Since it was founded a decade ago, the BOMA Georgia Foundation has advanced the careers of thousands of real estate professionals through scholarships, continuing education, and research,” said BOMA Georgia Chief Executive Officer Gabriel Eckert, FASAE, CAE. “It is exciting to see our foundation recognized for the transformational work it is doing.”

From its founding in 2014 to 2024, the BOMA Georgia Foundation awarded nearly 1,000 scholarships, completed nearly 25 research projects and reports, and produced four BOMA Southern Region Conferences – all through the mission of “Advancing Real Estate Education and Research.”

Scholarships awarded by the foundation increased registration in targeted educational programs up to160% for property managers and up to 400% for building engineers. Furthermore, the BOMA Georgia Foundation conducted research, free of charge for BOMA associations in Charlotte, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Philadelphia, and Raleigh-Durham and the foundation’s research was accessed by individuals in 26 states and the District of Columbia, as well as in Canada and Brazil.

“Congratulations to Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia for exemplifying the impact associations have on the industries and professions they represent, and on society at large,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “It’s always so incredibly satisfying to see associations going above and beyond their everyday mission to change the world. We’re very proud to spotlight this award-winning initiative.”

At the time the award was received, ASAE was a membership organization of more than 45,000 association executives and industry partners. Additionally, over the course of more than a century, ASAE grew to become the premier source of learning, knowledge, and future-oriented research for the association and nonprofit profession, providing resources, education, ideas, and advocacy to enhance the power and performance of the association and nonprofit community.
