Atlantic Center Plaza, built in 2001, is a 23-story, Class A office building consisting of more than 500,000 square feet. The exterior is constructed of flame-cut rose granite up to the fifth story and pre-cast concrete panel for the remaining height of the building. The top of the building is finished with a copper clad metal that functions as a screening for all roof-mounted mechanical equipment. The glazing system is comprised of high-performance, double-pane, tempered window units. The structure is constructed of post-tension concrete and is a fire-resistive design with compartmentation throughout. The building is fully protected by water-based fire protection sprinklers. The lobby features natural stone, exotic wood finishes and artwork that captures the spirit of Midtown’s cultural arts district. Atlanta artist, Harriet Leibowitz, was commissioned to create art for the lobby. The chosen piece “Performance In Red” which celebrates DANCE is beautifully displayed behind the security console. The Southeast corner of the lobby contains a life-size bronze statue which depicts tragedy as one of the nine Muses from Greek Mythology. This elegant tower is destined to be a landmark in the heart of Midtown.
