R. Alan Fisher

2001 - 2004 | BOMA-Atlanta / BOMA Georgia Executive Directors

R. Alan Fisher, Ed.D, served as BOMA Atlanta Executive Director from 2001 to 2004.

Education and research were two hallmarks of R. Alan Fisher’s service as BOMA-Atlanta executive director. With a doctorate in education, focusing on the professional development needs of members was natural for Alan. During his tenure, the association created Property Management 101 (PM 101), a comprehensive training program for entry-level real estate professionals. The five-day course combined classroom instruction with hands-on building tours to provide participants with a well-rounded understanding of property management. After Alan’s departure from BOMA, PM 101 gained national attention and was licensed by BOMA International to train individuals throughout the nation. Alan’s service to BOMA-Atlanta also led to the organization being recognized three out of four years as one of the top BOMA locals in the nation participating in the Experience Exchange Report (EER). The EER has long been the industry’s most comprehensive source for building operating benchmarking data.

Alan graduated from The University of Georgia in 1980 with an Ed.D. in Adult Education.
