Fred Cox received the 1972 George F. Richardson Award from BOMA Atlanta.

According to the November 18, 1973, issue of The Atlanta Journal and The Atlanta Constitution, Fred was building manager at Century Center and 1973 Chairman of BOMA Atlanta’s Rental Committee.

Fred’s obituary was published in the February 14, 2016, issue of The Atlanta-Journal Constitution. It reads, “Frederick Eugene Cox was born January 24, 1930, and passed away peacefully January 21, 2016, just three days short of his 86th birthday. He was born in Mt. Olive, NC. His mother moved the family to a beautiful home on the Duck Pond in Garden Hills, while his father served in World War II. Fred Cox attended North Fulton High School, where he was a President of the SPO fraternity. He graduated from the University of Georgia, where he was a member of the SAE fraternity. He was proud to be a Buckhead boy. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He returned to Atlanta and married Betty Ellington Brower. He worked at Carter and Associates. He was instrumental in the development of the first medical condominiums in Atlanta and Century Center, where his daughter works now. He later became a member of The Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia, while managing various office parks in the metro Atlanta area. He was a small business owner of several companies. Upon retirement, he pursued his lifelong interest of woodworking. He spent weekends teaching others how to turn wood, and make beautiful objects. He was a member of Peachtree Road Presbyterian Church.”
