2019 | President's AwardCompany: Roof Partners

Elaine Bare, Owner & President of Roof Partners, was recognized with the 2019 BOMA Georgia President’s Award.

“Elaine is a long-time member and supporter of BOMA, not just in Georgia, but throughout the BOMA federation,” said Kinsey Hinkson, 2019 BOMA Georgia President. “She has served in several volunteer roles and has always said yes to serving BOMA in new ways. Most recently, she served as a member of the BOMA Southern Region Conference Education Task Force. Her leadership on the task force ensured a positive educational experience for attendees at the 2019 conference in Savannah. In addition, her company, Roof Partners, also served as the Naming Rights sponsor and badge holder sponsor for the regional conference, as well as underwriting cost of providing a dynamic keynote speaker. Her generosity of time, support, and leadership has strengthened BOMA in many ways.”

Elaine also served as 2011 chair of the Membership Committe and 2014 chair of the Trade Show Committee. Additionally, she has been an active member of the Allied Member Resource Group, Awards Committee, Government Affairs Committee, TOBY Judging Committee, Professional Development Committee, and Sports Outing Committee.

At the time she received the award, Elaine had also been elected to serve as a member of the BOMA Georgia Foundation Board of Trustees for the 2020-2021 term.

“Elaine is certainly one of the most active and dedicated members of BOMA Georgia,” said Gabriel Eckert, BOMA Georgia Chief Executive Officer. “Elaine is also an incredibly caring, positive, and inclusive person. She’s always smiling, always happy to see her friends and colleagues, and always eager to make new friends. She has truly made a positive and lasting impact on BOMA Georgia and on the real estate industry through her generosity and time spent helping others.”

As a coworker said, “Elaine has seen it all in commercial roofing, and is a leader among an extremely small number of women who have been key decision makers in the commercial roofing industry.”

Another coworker said, “Elaine says she’s never become bored with commercial roofing. Every day is a new challenge. She has never been afraid to get up on the roof if necessary. Her attitude is always, ‘whatever it takes to get the job done and get it done right for her customers.’ Elaine has created Roof Partners with the philosophy that Roof Partners is, and always will be, a complete partner in developing solutions for our customers’ roof assets. This line of thinking, and commitment to her customers, has led to the decades of relationships with property managers, engineers and building owners that rely on her impeccable reputation in our industry.”

Elaine was also named the 2012 BOMA Georgia Allied Member of the Year.

Elaine was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to William Burdelle Scoggins and Doris Virginia Lummus on November 1, 1948. She was one of five children and grew up in Southwest Atlanta. After she graduated from Brown High School in 1966, she went to work for Sanders Roofing Company as a bookkeeper.
