Darryl J. Carter, with Cushman & Wakefield, was recognized as BOMA Georgia’s 2017 Engineer of the Year. Darryl leads a team of four engineers as senior chief engineer for two assets totaling nearly one million square feet. His leadership has resulted in decreasing energy usage by more than 4% at one of the buildings he serves. His efforts also led to achieving an ENERGY STAR rating of 90 and a LEED Platinum Certification.

When Darryl was asked, “What makes a good leader?,” he responded, “The ability to serve. One cannot lead a team effectively, if he or she does not understand and have a spirit of service as well.”

A member who nominated Darryl for the award said, “His level of expertise and expansive knowledge is matched only by his genuine respect for people, integrity, and leadership ability.”
Finally, another member said, “Darryl does all of his duties with a bright spirit and always makes everyone feel valued, important, and integral to the team.”
